Is It Really Our Business?

Hey Readers! The other day, I was in my monthly forum meeting and by coincidence, Queen Latifah's name came into conversation. We were discussing black celebrities vs. White celebrities and the difference between them coming out of the closet.
One guy stated:" It's really no one's business how Queen Latifah lives her life..." and I for one happen to agree with him.

I honestly think we have access and are privy to too much information of our favorite and not so favorite celebrities. Well, here we are again with information about the Queen and her friend/personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins; seems the twosome have purchased a million dollar home in the Hollywood Hills area(For Full story go to www.realestalker.blogspot.com).

Why this is considered important is beyond me, If she purchased the home with her male personal trainer would it have been considered news? would it have been a big deal? If she were a white celebrity, would it still be a big deal? In my honest opinion, NO!

The black community places too much emphasis on a person's sexuality. So what if she and Jeanette are a couple; that has nothing to do with her being a successful and outstanding rapper/singer/actress/producer/spokesperson/and entrepreneur.

If she never discloses her sexual preference publicly that's fine. She nor any other celebrity doesn't owe us anything except good music and movies. She is to do only what we pay for her to do. I just wish the black community would get a clue and start concentrating on the things that truly matter.
