I must say congratulations are in order for Morgan Freeman for being nominated for best actor in a motion picture for his role in the movie Invictus and a special congratulations to Lee Daniels and the entire cast and crew of the movie Precious! The movie received a total of six nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress in a leading role and Best Actress in a supporting role.
Now I'mma keep it real, I'm so very proud of new comer Gabourey Sidibe, she clearly defies the Hollywood standard of Beauty, yet she is nominated for her first time performance in a motion picture and she continues to be in high demand. She's up against some very heavy hitters in the industry; Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side), Helen Mirren (The Last Station) and Meryl Streep (Julie & Julia). I wish her all the best, but I think Meryl Streep has this one.
As far as Best Supporting actress,I am convinced Mo'Nique has this one on lock! Her performance as Mary Jones was so convincing, I left the theater wanting to find her and whop her a** on site! Mo'Nique who is a trendsetter, has come a long way since her days of stand up comedy.
On March 7th, tune into the Oscars to see our brothers and sisters being appreciated for their craft and the hard efforts they've put into it.
